"Be Fire Smart Safety Pledge"The Fairfield Fire Department will be taking part in the Liberty Mutual “Be Fire Smart Safety Pledge”. This program consists of a short 10 question fire safety test that is taken online. For each time the quiz is taken and the fire department’s name is entered and we get a credit. A $10,000 grant for fire safety will be given to the 10 fire departments that receive the most credits. With the grant money the fire department will be purchasing a fire extinguisher training simulator for public education classes. Complete details are available here. For complete details click here. • Route 4 (Dixie Highway) will be closed from Bishop Avenue to the CSX Overpass: Motorists are advised that Route 4 (Dixie Highway) will be closed from Bishop Avenue to the CSX Overpass to the North for approximately two (2) nights. The road closure will be from Tuesday, November 17, 2009 through Wednesday, November 18, 2009 between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., weather permitting. This is for work related to the Gateway Sign near the Fairfield-Hamilton Corporation Line. During the closure a detour will be posted directing traffic around the site via Symmes Road to North Gilmore Road to Bobmeyer Road. West Chester JEDD 1City of Fairfield announces that it has entered into a multi-jurisdictional agreement with West Chester Township and City of Springdale to administrator a Joint Economic Develop District (JEDD). Effective as of 9/15/09 Business and employees working within the JEDD are required to pay municipal income taxes. A 1.0% tax shall be due on net profits and or qualifying wages earned within the JEDD. The district is comprised of 43 acres located at the northwest corner of Union Centre Boulevard and Cincinnati-Dayton Road in West Chester. Businesses located within or doing business within the JEDD are asked to complete a Business questionnaire.
