Don't let our size fool you: Appreciation of the arts is alive and well in the City of Fairfield.

The City's dedication to the preservation of art, drama and music remains a priority for city officials. The City recognizes the educational value of the arts and continues to support efforts to increase arts appreciation.

Community Arts Center

Opened in May 2005, the Fairfield Community Arts Center, houses a 250-seat theater, an arts and crafts studio, dance and fitness studio, children’s room, senior lounge, classroom, a multipurpose community/banquet room with a balcony overlooking Village Green Park, and an art gallery.

Arts classes

The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of artistic and creative classes for both children and adults. See classes currently being offered.

The community benefits

As a sponsor of the Fairfield Summer Community Theatre, the City provides financial support for the group's annual theatre production. These efforts allow Fairfield actors and actresses to tap their dramatic talents, while providing entertainment for the community.

The strong performing arts and music programs of the Fairfield City Schools also provides Fairfield residents enjoyable, convenient access to the arts.

In its 50th anniversary season, the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra has become a mainstay of the arts community in Butler County. The HFSO schedules numerous performances throughout the county each season.

The City's collection

The past years brought about the growth of the City of Fairfield's own art collection.

Bronze sculptural pieces were introduced at Village Green Park and the Fairfield Lane Public Library and other locations around Fairfield.

In addition, the City commissioned mural artist Eric Henn to paint the Fairfield post office in commemoration of the City's 50th anniversary in 2005.
