Dena is responsible for the management, coordination and supervision of the City Council office. She schedules and plans meetings and prepares and processes City Council agendas, Council communications, transcripts of meetings, reports, spreadsheets, purchasing, etc.  She also provides office support to the Mayor.

Background:

Dena joined the City of Fairfield staff in August 1979 and began in her current position in February 1980. Prior to employment with the City of Fairfield, she worked for five years at Ohio Casualty Insurance Company as a rater of fire insurance policies and then was a stay-at-home Mom for several years.

She is a member of the Ohio Municipal Clerk’s Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She also serves as a member of the City of Fairfield’s Health and Dental Benefits Committee.

Dena received the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments Public Service Award in 1998 in recognition of her public service to the City of Fairfield.  In 2001, she received the Employee STAR Award for her work on the Fairfield Veterans Memorial Park project.

Dena currently serves on the Mayor’s Citizen of Character Award Committee and assists with the Mayor’s Military Recognition Program. Past memberships include Fairfield Indian Summer Days Committee, 40^th Anniversary Committee, Fairfield Veterans Memorial Park Committee and Fairfield’s 50^th Anniversary Committee.

Personal interests/family:

Dena is married with two children. Her husband, Jim, retired from the Indian Hill Police Department in 2003.  Her daughter, Brooke, and son-in-law, Andy, reside in Hamilton. Her son, Stephen, attends Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati, where he is a member of Roger Bacon’s drumline. For the past two years, Dena’s main hobby has been scrapbooking his activities with the Marching Spartans. She also enjoys reading and working in the yard.
