City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month. When a holiday falls on a Monday, meetings are generally moved to the following Tuesday.

Council-manager briefings (or committee meetings) begin at 6 p.m. in conference room A at the Fairfield Municipal Building, 5350 Pleasant Avenue. These meetings are attended by council, City staff members and others who have an interest in the meeting agenda.

Regular meetings, or voting sessions, begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers. These meetings are televised live to residents of Fairfield who are cable television subscribers.

Residents who miss the live broadcast can watch the meeting later in the week on Channel 18, Fairfield's government access channel. A schedule of when the meeting will be aired is posted on Channel 18 on the Wednesday following the meeting.
