Legislation Summary No. 06-2008

Following is a summary of legislation adopted by the Fairfield City Council on March 24, 2008. A complete text may be viewed at the following Fairfield locations: Fairfield Municipal Building (Room 138), Fairfield Lane Public Library, Fairfield YMCA, Fairfield Golf and Community Center, and the Wildwood Manor House.

Ord. 20-08 Contract with Path Master, Inc. for the purchase of replacement traffic signal controllers for the closed loop traffic signal system.

Ord. 21-08 Contract with Helena Chemical Company for the purchase of fertilizer and chemicals for use within the Golf Maintenance and Park Maintenance Divisions.

Ord. 22-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $35,000 for replacement traffic signal controllers.

Ord. 23-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $28,000 for traffic signal upgrade at Wessel and Pleasant Avenue and $18,267 for upgrade of preemption confirmation lights; $20,675 for furniture, fixtures & equipment for the Golf Course Clubhouse; $15,000 for backwash pump at Water Treatment Plant; and $8,000 for architectural drawings and plans for construction of biosolids storage building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Ord. 24-08 Three (3) year contract with Prus Construction for the 2008-2010 Concrete Repair and Replacement work.

Ord. 25-08 Authorization to execute and file an application for a Transportation Enhancement Grant for improvements on Route 4.

Ord. 26-08 Contract with EIMCO Water Technologies for rebuilding the drive assembly for a water softening tank at the Water Treatment Plant.

Ord. 27-08 Contract with International Association of Firefighters (IAFF), Local 4010 for wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment for the fire department bargaining unit.

Ord. 28-08 Collective Bargaining Agreement with IUOE Local 20 for wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment for members of its bargaining unit.

Ord. 29-08 Wage and Salary Ordinance for certain salaried and hourly employees.

Ord. 30-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $73,000 for rebuilding of water softening tank at the Water Treatment Plant; $700,000 for annual concrete repair & replacement program and $303,261 for State Route 4 & Crescentville Road Improvements.

Ord. 31-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $175,000 for purchase of road salt; $11,016 traffic signal design/Mack Road & Shearwater Drive; and $10,000 for engineering services for Waterworks Park/Nuxhall Pavilion Project.

Res. 4-08 Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a construction agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the State Route 4 (SR 4) and Crescentville Road Improvements.

Res. 5-08 Resolution permitting a Fairfield property owner to receive City of Hamilton, Ohio water.
