Legislation Summary No. 07-2008

Following is a summary of legislation adopted by the Fairfield City Council on April 14, 2008. Ord. 32-08 Contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the installation of replacement traffic mast arm signals at the intersections of Pleasant Avenue (US 127) @ Magie Avenue and River Road @ Cole Drive/Vinnedge Avenue and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Mack Road @ Benzing Drive.

Ord. 33-08 Contract with Capital Electric Line Builders, Inc. for the installation of video detection systems at the intersections of Seward Road @ Port Union and Seward Road @ Union Centre Blvd.

Ord. 34-08 Contract with Capital Electric Wagner-Smith for River Road in-road illuminated crosswalk replacement.

Ord. 35-08 Contract with Southeastern Equipment, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Case 590SM loader-backhoe to replace Unit #236.

Ord. 36-08 Contract with Southeastern Equipment, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Case 590SM loader-backhoe to replace Unit #215.

Ord. 37-08 Contract with Southeastern Equipment, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Case Model CX50 compact excavator.

Ord. 38-08 Contract with Bob Ross Buick-GMC-Hummer for the purchase of one (1) 17,500 GVWR, 84” cab to axle cab and chassis to replace Unit #638.

Ord. 39-08 Contact with Taylor Chevrolet for the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet Trailblazer to replace Unit #602.

Ord. 40-08 Contact with Taylor Chevrolet for the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet Colorado, 4-wheel drive, extended cab pick-up truck.

Ord. 41-08 Contract with National Water Service for cleaning and rehabilitating Raw Water Production Wells Nos. 4 and 5 in the Water Division.

Ord. 42-08 Contract with Taylor Chevrolet for the purchase of two (2) Chevrolet Impala sedans for the Police Department.

Ord. 43-08 Contract with American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Ohio Council 8, Local 3646, for wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment for the members of its bargaining unit.

Ord. 44-08 Wage and Salary Ordinance for certain salaried and hourly employees of the City of Fairfield.

Ord. 45-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $485,269 traffic signal upgrades at various intersections; $321,638 automotive equipment; $95,000 for video detection upgrades; $70,799 for crosswalk replacement; and $55,000 for cleaning and rehabilitation of raw water production wells.

Ord. 46-08 2008 Budget Amendments: $7,550 for geotechnical engineering for Waterworks Park; $8,100 for mechanical and structural engineering for Waterworks Park; $4,595 for vehicle diagnostic equipment; $20,000 for relocation of vehicle clean out facility at Groh Lane; $11,475 for cleaning and televising a storm sewer; $16,952 for preemption system; $7,000 for professional services for energy efficient studies of the Municipal Building and the Community Arts Center; 12,000 for repairs for Pump Station No. 1 at the Wastewater Treatment Plant; $21,910 for engineering services and study for Gray Road area; $21,400 for engineering services for installation of standby generators at lift stations; $23,700 radio transceivers for telemetry communication; $15,000 for fire hydrant replacement program; $20,000 for emergency restoration of parking area due to main break; $3,000 to rebuild motor for backwash pump at Water Treatment Plant; $15,000 for professional architectural services for new maintenance building at Water Treatment Plant and 10,950 for lights for Fairfield Community Arts Center.

Res. 6-08 Resolution to approve and adopt the City of Fairfield, Ohio 2008-2012 Capital Improvement Program.
