Tim directs, supervises and coordinates the staff and service delivery within the Department of Development Services, which is responsible for all building and site plan review, short and long term city planning, economic development, project management, flood zone administration, building inspection and property maintenance. There are 14 full-time and 3 part-time Development Services employees.

The department is responsible to the City Council on matters of development, the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Building Appeals and various other boards.

Background:

After graduation from the University of Cincinnati in 1985, Tim began his career with the City of Fairfield as the Long Range Planner. In 1987 he was appointed as the Planning Director and has served in the capacity as department head since. The Department was reorganized and named Development Services in 2003 to more accurately reflect the various services being delivered in addition to city planning.

In 2005, Tim was honored with the Greater Cincinnati Public Service award. He has also earned certifications from the American Institute of Certified Planners and the National Development Council.

Tim is a member of various professional Planning and Economic Development organizations including American Planning Association, Ohio Planning Conference, Urban Land Institute, International Economic Development Council and Ohio Development Council.

Personal interests/family:

Tim and his wife, Sharon, have three teen-agers: Andy, Kevin and Carrie. Tim enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and watching any type of football.

Tim is a member of the Butler County Alliance and Secretary to the St. John’s/Bevis Athletic Association.
