Fire Department Units

The Fairfield Fire Department provides around the clock staffing at three locations. The Department employs 18 full-time firefighter/paramedics with support from 44 part-time staff members and five full-time senior officers.

Clergy Crisis Response Team
Fairfield’s Clergy Crisis Response Team was organized by Fire Chief Don Bennet in an attempt to support citizens which encounter traumatic events within the community. 

Fire investigations
The Fire Investigations Unit, headed by the department's deputy chief, is charged with the responsibility to investigate the origin, cause and circumstances of undetermined, incendiary, suspicious fires, along with all fires where serious injury or death occur.

Jazz, Department mascot
Jazz, short for Jasmin, is a 13-year-old Dalmatian and the Fire Department’s mascot.

Paramedic bicycle patrol
The Fairfield Fire Department’s paramedic bicycle program allows paramedics a more mobile presence at special events and throughout the community.
