Paramedic bicycle equipment

The Fairfield Fire Department furnishes all of the equipment used by the department's bicycle patrol. Each bike consists of the following:

  • Smith & Wesson custom EMS bikes
  • Nightrider headlight and taillight systems
  • Powergrip pedal retention device
  • Topeak Quick-Trac rear rack

The paramedic bicycle patrol program always operates in teams of two. This helps to distribute the weight of all of the equipment.

Equipment carried on one bike in each of the two-bicycle unit consists of the following AED bag set equipment.

(1) Medicine vial with (1) 50 mg. Diphenhydramine, (1) Epinephrine 1:1,000, (1) Albuterol and (1) bottle of 0.4 Nitro

All medical gear carried is done so in bicycle-specific medical bags made by R&B Fabricating.
