Joe Nuxhall - A Friend to Fairfield

Joe Nuxhall Budweiser Memorial Open - June 16, 2008

Our friend Joe Nuxhall passed away November 15, 2007.

The Foundation honored Joe at a reception in 2003, and 850 of his closest friends attended! The result of which was the Joe Nuxhall Character Education Fund, which has impacted many children in a very positive way.

Another of Joe's projects through the Foundation is the Joe Nuxhall Hope Fund. Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Hope Fund at The Fairfield Community Foundation: 5350 Pleasant Ave. Fairfield, OH 45014

We will miss you Joe but your goodness goes on.....

"In every community,
there is work to be done.
In every nation,
there are wounds to heal.
In every heart,
There is the power to do it."

The Fairfield Community Foundation is a non-profit organization seeking to immortalize the giving and caring nature of our community for the future. The Fairfield Community Foundation will take your tax-advantaged gifts of today and seek to ensure that the good of those gifts serves specific needs now, and for generations to come.

Gifts from the Fairfield Community Foundation will meet charitable, educational or economic needs that benefit individuals and organizations. Needs will be conscientiously determined by a board of trustees consisting of eleven men and women who have demonstrated a sincere interest in the welfare of the Fairfield area and its people.

What is the Fairfield Community Foundation?

The Fairfield Community Foundation is a non-profit foundation, administered by a board of local, dedicated men and women whose purpose is to financially promote charitable, educational and other worthwhile community goals.

The economic goal of the foundation will be to preserve and grow the foundation's principal investments while distributing earnings as the board deems necessary to meet community needs.

The Fairfield Community Foundation will help Fairfield to be a healthy and progressive community well into the next millennium, with resources to fulfill community needs that may otherwise go unfunded.

Where does the Foundation's money come from?

Contributions are made by individuals and businesses who want their generosity to live on indefinitely. Our contributors and supporters are visionaries who can see that their community, their children and grandchildren, will be the greatest beneficiaries of their efforts.

What do you mean, indefinitely?

Foundations maintain, and wisely invest, the principal of gifts from generous people like you. The earnings from the principal are then distributed as required to meet the needs of the community. So, a gift to the Fairfield Community Foundation really does keep on giving — indefinitely.

Can I direct the way my contribution is used?

Anyone who contributes substantial tax-deductible funds to the Fairfield Community Foundation may request that their money be directed to specific named funds. Many people, however, will place the money in the hands of the board for distribution at their discretion so that the money is available for the most urgent needs of our community. This is unrestricted donation.

Why is there a Fairfield Community Foundation?

The Fairfield Community Foundation was formed to give people a way to help provide for the common future good of the Fairfield area. There are successful foundations in Hamilton, Oxford, Middletown and Cincinnati that have brought enormous benefit to their communities.

Fairfield is now a substantial community capable of supporting a foundation and providing for the otherwise unfunded needs of the community and its citizens.

Advantages of donating

All donations are tax deductible under IRS Code Section 501 (c)(3). One of the big advantages is that you may direct the way in which your donation will be used. Your gift will always serve a local need and its benefit may be quite visible, now and in the future.

Substantial savings might also be achieved by eliminating the need for establishing complex, individual charitable trusts. Most people donate, however, simply because it "feels good" and their money benefits their own community.

How can I contribute?

Contact one of our trustees or you can write, call or email the Fairfield Community Foundation directly. Some people make contributions to a fund in order to honor a specific person or commemorate the life of a friend or loved one. Many people choose to make a donation to the Foundation in their will.

Direct contributions are always welcome and please remember that unrestricted gifts are greatly needed. Please stop by our offices at any time, at 5350 Pleasant Ave., if you would like to see our most recent:
- Annual report
- Financial audit
- IRS Form 990

How can I apply for a grant?

Organizations that serve the citizens of Fairfield and Fairfield Township are welcome to apply for a grant from the Fairfield Community Foundation. The organization must have 501 C 3 nonprofit status with the IRS. We accept the application three times a year: January 15, May 15 and November 15. The grant application and instructions are available for download here. If you have questions about our grant application, please contact the Fairfield Community Foundation, (513) 829-6355.
