Karen works to recruit and retain volunteers for Parks and Recreation programs and positions at the Community Arts Center.  She also oversees the Adopt-a-Park and Adopt-a-Roadway programs, and coordinates volunteers involved in Random Acts of Simple Kindness Affecting Local Seniors (RASKALS) twice a year.

Background:

Karen worked for an IT Consulting Firm for 13 years, recruiting and eventually managing IT professionals.  She was also the Training Coordinator as well as P&G Liaison for the Sales Staff for the Cincinnati branch.

She has an Associate Degree from Bowling Green State University in Business and a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in Human Resources.

Karen is a member and past Program Coordinator of the Cincinnati Association of Volunteer Administrators, serves as secretary for the Butler County Volunteer Administrator’s Network and is a member of the National Association of Volunteer Professionals in Local Government and the Work and Family Advisory Committee at Fairfield High School.

She also serves as a board member and secretary for the John Engle Christian Counceling Center and was a past community liaison for Fairfield Women.

Personal interests/family:

Karen and her husband, Dan, have one daughter, Amanda. Karen enjoys reading, knitting and scrap booking.
