Welcome: Parks & Recreation: Environmental Resources and Community Forest Commission

Tree lottery

Fairfield’s 2008 Tree Lottery offers to plant up to 20 trees at no cost to a property owner. The trees must be placed in the easement (between the street and sidewalk). With just a little water and care, a tree can grow up to be a valued part of your property! All single-family residents in Fairfield that own their property, have room to plant a tree within the guidelines of the ordinance, and meet the following criteria are eligible to enter.

Only single-family resident owners within the city limits are eligible to participate.

Property owners who fail to properly maintain their current street trees or a lottery tree will not be eligible to participate in future lotteries.

A property owner cannot win a tree in two consecutive years.

All trees must be planted within the corporation limits in the public right-of-way in accordance with the city’s tree ordinance.

All decisions made by the Environmental Resources and Community Forest Commission are final.

Deadline for entry is September 15, 2008.
