For years, volunteers have played an important part in the delivery of City services. A formal volunteer program in Fairfield was established in 1994 starting with volunteer Mail Couriers for Interoffice Mail. View photos from volunteer events The program has grown significantly through the years to now encompass Make a Difference Day in which Senior Citizens receive clean-up and fix-up help from approximately 800 Volunteers. Today, there is still a need for Volunteer Mail Couriers as well as volunteers in the Municipal Court and Income Tax Department. There’s a place for volunteers who usher in the Community Theater, volunteers who help out with our Senior programming and Children’s programming. The City’s Volunteer Program also supports efforts of the area RASKALS (Random Acts of Simple Kindness Affecting Local Seniors) program twice a year to help Senior Citizens with their outdoor spring and fall chores. Students from Fairfield High School, Badin High School, Miami University, and others are involved in helping with the Father/Daughter Dance, the Mother/Son Dance, the Mom & Me Tea, the Easter Egg Hunt, September Dayz, the Pumpkin Patch, Breakfast with Santa and Holly Days. The bottom line is that there’s a place for YOU. If you are interested in helping, call the Volunteer Office at (513) 896- 8411. Last updated: 5/16/2008 |
