Gerold promoted to Lieutenant

Ken Gerold has recently been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with the Fairfield Police Department. Under the Fairfield Police Department’s command structure, three lieutenants report directly to the Chief of Police.

As lieutenant, Gerold will supervise the communications center, records, warrants, and the property/evidence room. He will also continue to be responsible for overseeing Fairfield’s accreditation, a responsibility he also had while Sergeant.

Lieutenant Gerold joined the Department in 1988, earning Sergeant stripes in 1998. During his decade of service as Sergeant, Gerold supervised road patrol and investigations. Lieutenant Gerold attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated from Northwestern University’s Staff and Command Program. He and his wife Shari have one daughter and two dogs. When he is not working, he enjoys camping, hiking and reading.
