Police divisions and units

The Fairfield Police Department has an authorized force of 61 sworn law enforcement officers supported by an additional 25 civilian employees. Staffing is devoted to Road Patrol, Vice Squad, Investigations, DARE Program, School Resource Officers, two K-9 Officers, Juvenile Diversion Counselor and Bike Patrol.

Canine Unit
The police department has two canine teams, Officer John Cresap and Ketcher and Officer Rob Corner and Rex.

Criminal investigations
The Investigations Unit conducts follow-up investigations of auto theft, burglary, theft, fraud, rape, assault, homicide, armed robbery and other crimes.

Drug and Vice
The Fairfield Police Department Special Investigations Unit handles drug and vice complaints.
