| Chief - Michael J. Dickey, CLEE
Chief Mike Dickey is responsible for the leadership and administrative management of the Fairfield Police Department and the maintenance of a positive public perception of the department. Background: Chief Dickey has a long and varied career in the police service. Before his selection as Chief of the Fairfield Police Department in 1999, he was appointed Deputy Sheriff in Montgomery County in 1968; Chief of Police and later Village Administrator for New Lebanon, Ohio in 1982, and Director of Police for Englewood, Ohio in 1988. Mike holds a BS and MPA from the University of Dayton. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and a Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE), Ohio Law Enforcement Foundation. He was named the 2005 Fairfield Rotary Club Rotarian of the Year and received the 2004 Leadership in Public Service Award from the OKI Regional Council of Governments. Under his leadership, the Fairfield Police Department was awarded a Certificate of Accreditation by CALEA in 2003, a certification re-awarded in 2006. Mike is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, and Butler County Chiefs of Police Association. Personal interests/family: Mike and his wife, Susan, have two sons and four grandchildren. He enjoys billiards, travel and snorkeling in Bonaire. Mike serves as Membership Chair of the Fairfield Rotary Club, where he formerly served as president.
