Recycle to Win! Take the Recycling Pledge
A competition of serious fun between Fairfield and Oxford (the two top recycling communities in Butler County) has begun as part of the BCSWD Recycle to Win Challenge. Each community is being challenged to boost recycling rates. The reward... cash-back incentives from the BCSWD. Sign your pledge online and you'll be entered in the monthly drawings for prizes such as local restaurant gift cards. And don't miss the Recycled Art Competition "DISCARDED", showcasing original artwork using discarded, reused or recycled materials. The pieces will be showcased at the Village Green Fine Arts Fair on Saturday, June 21, 2008.

Fairfield water-sewer rates best in region (again!)
For the second consecutive year, the City of Fairfield has been identified as the community with the lowest combined rates for water and sewer services in all of southwestern Ohio.

Hydrant flushing may cause discolored water
The City of Fairfield's Water Division will be conducting the annual fire hydrant flushing program in phases. Residents may experience discolored water for a short period of time after each flushing. Water should be clear after allowing services to flush for a period of five to ten minutes.
The Final Phase will be conducted 9:00 p.m. Friday May 9, 2008 to 6:00 a.m. Saturday May 10, 2008.
