Preventing contamination

The Wellhead Protection Program (WHPP) protects the health of people using groundwater as a public drinking water source by providing a focus zone around public wells to prevent, detect and remediate groundwater contamination.

Fairfield is part of the WHPP developed and implemented by The Hamilton to New Baltimore Groundwater Consortium, a multi-jurisdictional body that ensures quality of water in the Great Miami Valley Aquifer. The program includes the following components:
