Homeowner responsibilities

Every owner of a residential lot along a public street or right-of-way, with any tree overhanging the street or right-of-way within the city is required to prune the branches so they do not obstruct the view of any street intersection and/or stop sign and so there is a clear space of six feet above the street or sidewalk.

City ordinances also require owners to remove all dead, diseased or dangerous trees, or broken or decayed limbs which constitute a hazard to the safety of the public use of the street, sidewalk or right-of-way.

If you experience an obstruction that prevents you from having clear visibility at intersections or along city streets, you may contact the Construction Services Division of the Public Works Department or submit it through the form below.

Personally identifiable information requested below is not required to submit a concern, but may be helpful should City employees have additional questions.

Tree limbs and electrical lines

Tree limbs growing too close to electrical lines, or tree limbs about to fall or damage electrical lines, should be reported to Duke Energy by calling 513-651-4182 or visiting Duke's Web site at www.dukeenergy.com.
