Welcome: Public Works: Streets

Traffic issues

As part of its responsibility for the care, repair and maintenance of Fairfield's streets, the Public Works Department handles the following traffic issues:

Speed advisory radar trailers
Fairfield has four speed advisory radar trailers. Highly popular devices for slowing traffic, these trailers display the posted speed limit and the actual speed of oncoming vehicles.

Traffic signals
Fairfield currently has 55 operating traffic signals. All but seven of these are on a computerized system that can be monitored and changed as needed from the Public Works facility.
