Registration for Full Day Summer Fun and Adventure Camps  begins Tuesday, April 12th for residents and Thursday, April 14th for non-residents. 

Registration for all other Summer Camps begins Tuesday,  April 26th for residents and Thursday, April  28th for non-residents.

"PLAY IN FAIRFIELD" Summer Activities EXPO
Saturday, April 30th, 1 - 3 pm

What are your kids doing this summer? If you are looking for the answer to this question then join us as we share a large variety of opportunities with you on how to open up a world of adventure and personal growth for your child. Representatives from over 20 camps and summer programs for Ages 3 – 17 will be on hand to speak with families about what they have to offer, spanning the spectrum from arts to science to outdoor nature activities. There will be giveaways available at each table so come out and enjoy the afternoon with the Parks and Recreation department. Be sure to “Fill Your Passport with a Fun-Filled Summer” by having your passport stamped at each table you visit during the expo, those who fill the entire passport can submit it in a drawing for one of four $25.00 gift certificates to be used on any program represented at the expo. Drawing will take place at 3 pm and winner does not need to be present.

Representatives will be available from Theatre camps, Pottery programs, Cup Cake Decorating camp, Painting programs, Nature programs, Preschool camps, Science camps, Ispace camps, Bricks 4 Kids camps, Spanish programs, Young Rembrandts, Golf camps, Swim programs, Sign Language programs, Sewing camp, All Day Fun and Adventure Camps, and the Education Station from Village Green Farmers Market.

FULL DAY SUMMER CAMPS

These exciting all day camps are designed to be a unique and innovative approach to educational and recreational opportunities for youth during the summer months that will not only educate youth on a variety of positive socially appropriate leisure pursuits, but also provide a high level of supervision for fun summer activities. Our excellent staff includes certified school teachers and college students who participate in pre-employment background checks and a well-rounded leadership training program. Planned activities consist of arts and crafts, cooperative games, hiking, nature activities, sports and swimming. Field trips are an integral part of the camp program, with a variety of trips to zoos, museums, skating rinks, Reds games and more. Camp is held, rain or shine, with rain-day activities planned. Each child receives a Summer Camp shirt to be worn on designated trips. Children should bring a sack lunch, drink, afternoon snack, swim suit, towel and sunscreen daily.

SUMMER FUN CAMP

Please remember that this program often fills quickly. We do not reserve spots; you are only registered for the weeks that are paid. You may pay for up to 10 weeks at a time and receive an additional savings.

PRESCHOOL CAMPS

Recyclable Art Camp

AGES 3-6

Have fun while hiking and cleaning up the park then afterwards we create art projects with recyclable items. A small snack and drink are provided. Wear gym shoes and old clothes.

Princess Dance Camp

AGES 3-6

Each day we have a different Princess theme while we learn the basics of being a ballerina, make special crafts, and enjoy a small snack. Join us on Friday as we present our "parade of princesses" and show what we have learned all week. Dancers must wear a leotard and have proper ballet shoes.

SpanishFUN Camp -  Fiesta Days!

AGES 3 - 6

Hola! Students will learn and practice Spanish in a fun and interactive way. Classes are taught using a mixture of songs, games, crafts, cultural food to make/sample, stories, written worksheets, toys/props, and more! A progress report is given at the end of class with a list of new Spanish vocabulary/phrases that are covered. Topics vary by session. Classes are great for children with little-to-no Spanish exposure as well as those who are fluent or native in Spanish.

YOUTH CAMPS

Dance Camp

AGES 7 and up

Dancers are divided into groups according to age (no previous dance experience is necessary) for fun crafts, games, dance routines and a final performance on Friday, June 10, at Noon or 7 pm (depending on which class you are in). Campers must bring a sack lunch/dinner daily, wear shorts or dancewear, and appropriate footwear. Each dancer receives a Dance Camp T-Shirt.

Break-A-Leg Camp 

AGES 8 - 13

Campers get to experience the entire production process, from the auditions to the performance, and get a basic knowledge of costume design, set design, directing and stage management. They showcase their talent with a 20-30 minute age-appropriate play, presented on our stage on the evening of June 24th.

iSPACE LEGO WeDo Adventure - NEW

AGES 6 - 8

Get ready for a safari full of LEGO WeDo adventure! Imagine the fun students have creating music with a drumming monkey, escaping the jaws of a chomping alligator or trying to calm a roaring lion! Students build these and other LEGO models that come to “life” by programming them on a laptop to move and make sounds. Adventures await!

iSPACE LEGO NXT MINDSTORMS Robotics Camp - NEW

AGES 9 - 12

Explore the exciting world of robotics as students work in pairs to program LEGO MINDSTORMS robots using the NXT controller. Students teach the robot to “think” when sensors are added that can take in information and influence the robot’s decisions. A successful mission is guaranteed with LEGO robots, fun challenges and unique obstacle courses!

On the first day, bring your phone or camera to take pictures while we hike at Harbin Park. On the second day, we meet at the Fairfield Community Arts Center to paint one of the scenes we saw the day before.

Young Rembrandts at the Sea 

AGES 7 - 12

Students begin by drawing a tropical fish graphic and then give it a scene and dimension using fundamental patterning techniques and bold color choices. Cartooning is included to add expression and movement, to bring our sea characters to life.

B-ASL Basic American Sign Language Camp - NEW!

AGES 6 - 12

Learn the importance of Deaf Culture, the parameters of sign language and the Alphabet that will aid in learning the beginning fundamentals of ASL. Learn how to correctly position your hand-shape, fingerspell the ABC’s, your own name and begin to sign.

Children’s Musical Theatre Camp ​

Our show (title TBA) is performed on Aug 5th, 6th and 7th with auditions held on July 16 from 10 am – Noon. Audition packets must be picked up at time of enrollment. Students must attend every class in order to participate in the final performance, so please do not register if you have a conflict.

Bricks4Kidz - Mining & Crafting Camp

Back by popular demand! Steve’s bringing back the best of our Mining and Crafting Camp for another summer! New this year, campers collaborate together with more team challenges to build their virtual worlds. Campers then bring their virtual designs to life by building mod figures, mosaic crafts, and custom models by incorporating LEGO® bricks.

“Galaxy Far Away” Space Camp - NEW

AGES 6 - 12

Bring together the fantasy worlds of intergalactic battles between good and evil and the reality of space travel from right here on planet Earth. Build a rocket to blast through the atmosphere into a realm that’s truly out of this world. Learn what it takes to pilot actual spacecraft. Students build motorized LEGO® models, create mosaic crafts, and participate in challenges that all relate to the most popular space movies of all time. Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away!​
