Fairfield Center for Reconciliation
What is Mediation? Most methods of addressing conflict involve “win/lose” approaches in which one party “wins” and one party “loses.” In other words, one person’s needs are met while the other person’s needs are not. Mediation, by contrast, is a “win/win” approach to resolving conflict in which the needs of both parties can be addressed. With mediation, no one loses. How Much Does it Cost? All mediations are conducted at no charge to participants. Our administrative and training costs are funded by a grant from the Presbytery of Cincinnati. Our mediators are dedicated to building community – two at a time. Who Are the Mediators?FCR’s mediators represent an excellent cross-section of our community, with diverse backgrounds that enable FCR to mediate virtually any kind of dispute. All of our mediators at the Fairfield Center for Reconciliation have completed a 40-hour class in facilitative mediation taught by the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago, a well-known and highly-respected mediation training facility. Building Community — Two at a TimeHow Do I Schedule A Mediation?1. Call FCR at 513-896-8214. Say that you’d like to schedule a mediation. 2. Provide your name and the name(s) and contact information of both parties to the dispute. 3. FCR will contact the other party to assess their interest in mediating the dispute. 4. If both parties agree to mediation, FCR will contact a mediator and schedule the mediation at a time mutually agreeable to everyone. 5. All mediations will take place at the Fairfield Justice Center. 6. All mediation services are free of charge to participants.
