Building Permit

Those wishing to obtain a building permit through the City's Building and Zoning Division must complete a building permit application form.

The building permit application may be downloaded in pdf format.

The form may be completed on your computer and then printed. Completed applications, along with submittals required for your project, may then be submitted to the City's Building and Zoning Division, located at 5350 Pleasant Avenue.

Contractors may obtain residential permits for electrical, HVAC and gas piping work via mail. To complete the permitting process via U.S. mail, download and complete the building permit application; visit our building permit fees page to determine permit cost (an additional $3 processing fee applies to all permits secured via this mail-in process); and submit check payment and signed application to the City of Fairfield, Building and Zoning Division, 5350 Pleasant Avenue, Fairfield, Ohio 45014. Once payment and completed application are received, the permit will be mailed to the address provided.
