Kroger opened a new fuel center in the Town Center at the southeast corner of Pleasant Avenue and Nilles Road. The site contained two vacant retail structures that were demolished as part of the project.
The City and Kroger collaborated in a lengthy design process in order to create a fuel center that met the architectural character of the Town Center. Some key features include a small convenience store in lieu of Kroger’s standard kiosk, all brick structures, extensive landscaping, and a restricted right-in only entrance on Pleasant Avenue with a full service entrance on Nilles Road. In order to facilitate the right-in only off of Pleasant Avenue, Kroger purchased an access easement on City-owned property, thereby creating a safer turning movement into the site.
