On December 17, 2010 new flood zone maps, as produced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), were incorporated into the City of Fairfield codified ordinances. In several areas the flood zones, which were established with the initial 1979 map, were removed and several other areas were added. These modifications were implemented due to various federal regulations and policies enacted in the past 30 years as well as refined mapping technology.
A complete re-write of the flood zone restrictions was mandated by FEMA and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). These new restrictions can be accessed by clicking on Chapter 1199 of Fairfield's codified ordinances.
The new flood zones can be viewed by clicking on Flood Map. If you have a question regarding your property, please call 513-867-5345.
