The City of Fairfield has a weekly technical committee meeting to review development plans for all projects in the City except for individual residential lots. Plans are reviewed for compliance with the Building and Zoning Code, fire safety regulations, water and sewer connections, storm water detention, traffic impact, and other related planning and development items. No construction permit will be issued until the plans have been approved. The average review time is three weeks; however, depending on the scale and complexity of the project, the time frame could be shorter or longer.Submitting plans
Please review the development plan submission checklist for a list of plan requirements. Three sets of plans are required to be submitted to the Building Department one week prior to the Wednesday meeting. Any plans that need to be resubmitted with changes must follow the same procedure.
