Jeff Kenworthy


Jeff is assigned to the position of District Captain / Unit 3. He supervises crews at emergency scenes, coordinates daily activities at the fire station and fills in for one of the three career captains as District 33. He was hired as a part time Firefighter / EMT in September of 1990. Jeff was promoted to District Lieutenant in 1993 and to his current position of District Captain in 1995.

Background
Jeff graduated from Fairfield High School in 1984 and Miami University in 1988 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Systems Analysis. After graduating from Miami, Jeff worked in Information Technology for Champion International for thirteen years and for ZF Industries for 2 years.

In 2010, Jeff graduated from the two and half year Ohio Fire Executive (OFE) program put on by the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association and most recently graduated from Lewis University with a Master's of Science degree in Public Safety Administration.

In 2004, Jeff was named firefighter of the year by the Fairfield Exchange Club for his involvement with the Bikes for Kids Christmas program. In 2005, Jeff was a City of Fairfield Star Award winner for his involvement with the Cell Phone for Soldiers organization.

Jeff is certified as a Firefighter II, EMT-B, Ice Rescue Technician, Hazmat Technician, and an Ohio Fire Executive. Jeff is also a member of the Greater Cincinnati Hazardous Materials Unit.

Personal Interests
Jeff enjoys being a board member for Chaco Credit Union. He and his wife Angie reside in Fairfield and spend their free time watching college and pro football and Xavier University Basketball. Jeff and Angie are members of Fairfield West Baptist Church were they spend time mentoring children after school and volunteering yearly at Lift Student Ministries Summer Camp for teenagers. Jeff also works part-time for the church as the Finance Director.
