Fire Safety Poster Contest

The Fairfield Fire Department will hold its annual “Fire Safety Poster Contest” for grades K through 6 again this year. Flyers will be distributed to each of the schools on Monday October 10 announcing the contest and this year’s theme. Each of the students will be given the rest of that week and the weekend to finish the posters. Flyer's and a video will be distributed to each of the participating schools on Monday. The posters will be due at their schools on Monday by October 17. The fire department will come to the schools and judge the posters and announce the winners that day. We will leave the posters at the school. The school may choose to display the winner and the finalist but that will be up to each individual school. As we have done in the past we will have a winner from each school building. Those winners and their teacher, if available will be picked up at their respective school building and taken for a short ride on the fire truck followed by breakfast at a station. We will check for allergies and a potential menu for the breakfast with the teacher and or the parents of the students. We also will encourage the parents to join us for breakfast. It usually makes for a great photo opportunity for the child and teacher.
