Change Your Battery

The next time to change your clock back (fall back 1 hour) from daylight-saving time is on November 6th.  Remember also to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.   Smoke detector batteries need to be changed once a year and this simple act will cut the risk of dying in a home fire by nearly half.  Developing this habit is a good way to remember a simple task that can save your life.  For additional Fire Safety Information contact the Fire Prevention Bureau @ 867-5378 or visit our Smoke Detector Guide.
