Denny assists the Fire Chief with the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department and is second in command of the department. He is currently in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau. In this position Denny oversees public fire safety education, fire code inspections, code enforcement, plan review, and fire investigations. He also serves as a liaison with many local, county and state departments. In the absence of the Fire Chief, he assumes the duties and responsibilities of that position.

Background:

Denny was appointed to the position of Deputy Fire Chief in April of 1993. He started as a volunteer firefighter / EMT with the Fairfield Fire Department in 1969, and was appointed as a part time firefighter / EMT in 1986.

In addition to attending numerous schools and seminars, Denny has taught fire classes at Butler Tech Public Safety Center, Great Oaks, and Cincinnati State College. He Is a State Certified Instructor for Firefighting and Fire Safety Inspector Courses. He hold's both, Pro Board and IFSAC teaching certifications.

He is a member of the Ohio Patriot Guard, Butler County Fire Investigation Team, International Association Arson Investigators, NFPA, Fire Advisory Committee at Great Oaks, International Code Council, and the International Society of Fire Service Instructors.

Personal interests/family:

A lifelong resident of Fairfield, Deputy Chief Glenn graduated from Fairfield High School in 1963. He resides in Fairfield with his wife Carol. They have three adult children, Denise, Michael and Matthew.

Denny is on the board of directors for the Tallawanda Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America.  He is dedicated to the youth shooting sports program, where he is an instructor.

He enjoys spending time with his family, grandchildren, hunting, boating and riding his motorcycle in his off time.
