Russ is the Training Coordinator for the Fairfield Fire Department. He is responsible for managing the Division of Training and for the development and implementation of constructive and educational Fire training programs within the Department.
Assigned to Russ to assist in administrating the training programs are three Training Lieutenants', one from each Unit day shift.

In addition to Training Division responsibilities, Russ also fills in for one of the three career Captains' as District 33.
Russ's association with the Fairfield Fire Department began in 1981 as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT. Russ remained with the Department through the transition phases of an all Part Time Department to the current Combination Department.
During these phases he progressed through the ranks, occupying the positions of District Lieutenant, District Captain, EMS Coordinator and the current position as Department Training Coordinator.
As Training Coordinator, Russ is certified as a Level II Firefighter, EMT-B, State of Ohio Fire Instructor, Fire Safety Inspector and Ice Rescue Instructor. Russ has attended conferences/seminars/classes at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland, Ohio Fire Academy in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, State Fire School at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and Illinois Fire Service Institute, University of Illinois.
Russ also is involved as a member of the Fairfield Fire Department Honor Guard and has affiliation with the Southwest Ohio Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
Russ Russ and his wife Roz are residents of Fairfield; have a son Brad, a graduate of The Ohio State University and resides with his wife Sasha in Wilmington, NC. Russ and Roz are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfield.
Russ is a member of VFW Post 1069, has interest in health and wellness activities, any outside activity, and digital photography.
