The Fairfield City School District earned its first “excellent” rating by the Ohio Department of Education August 15.

Fairfield met all but one of the 25 state indicators for 2005-06, pushing the district into the “excellent” category for the first time since the state initiated its mandated testing and rating system.

In addition to the top-rated public school system, Fairfield youth are served by private institutions.

Area Libraries

The 25,000-square-foot Fairfield Lane Public Library caters to the Fairfield community with a children's section, an area geared toward Fairfield's teens and a computer laboratory.
