NEWS RELEASES & UPDATES > Emerald Ash Borer Impacts Every Ohioan Blessed with some of the most beautiful topography, greenery and natural landscapes in Ohio, Fairfield has more than 300 acres set aside within the city to provide for outdoor entertainment, recreation and sports facilities. Fairfield's Parks and Recreation Department maintains both a professional nine-hole and a championship 18-hole golf course. The Fairfield Aquatics Center is an exciting and relaxing facility for the whole family during the summer months, and the Community Arts Center offers arts, fitness, educational and other programs throughout the year. The City also teams up with dedicated volunteer coaches and organizers to provide an array of opportunities for children, teenagers and adults to enjoy organized sports. In addition to all that, The City and community organizations offer hundreds of events from festivals and concerts to theatrical productions and volunteer opportunities. Fairfield also offers residents a variety of municipal services including 24-hour police, fire and emergency medical services, parks and recreational activities, public utilities, public works, planning and finance. City services are funded primarily through the Fairfield's one and one-half percent income tax and the local share of real estate taxes. |
