Carol oversees the Human Resources Office, responsible for recruiting and hiring, competitive compensation strategy, benefits, workers compensation and safety administration, employee/labor relations, HRIS recordkeeping and reporting, employee performance evaluations, policies and procedures.
Carol brings more than 20 years of HR experience to her position, which she began in February 2007. Prior to joining the City of Fairfield in 2001, Carol worked for 12 years as a Human Resources Assistant for U.S. Shoe Corporation and Clayton L. Scroggins.
She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College where she respectively received an Associates Degree in Legal Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, she is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Carol is a member of the National Public Employers Labor Relations Association (NPELRA), Ohio Public Employers Labor Relations Association (OHPELRA), International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Butler/Warren County SHRM.
Carol and her husband, Miles are residents of Fairfield and have three sons--Ed, Bill and Greg. Her hobbies and interests once revolved around her very active family, but as her last child went off to college, she finds she actually has some time to have a hobby or interest. She describes herself as a former “soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, band and PTA mom.”
Prior to her recent move to Fairfield, Carol was active in the Pleasant Run Farms community, having served on the Boards of Pleasant Run Farms Civic Association and Pleasant Run Farms Athletic Association. She was very active in the Northwest School District PTA and served as President of the Northwest High School PTSA for three years.
