Primary Duties:

Summary
Under general supervision of the Arts & Programs Manager, provide enthusiastic, courteous and timely service to all patrons of the Parks & Recreation Department through a variety of clerical responsibilities.

Provide excellent and professional customer service to the internal and/or external customers by: 
  a. Exhibiting enthusiasm for the facility and the job.
  b. Responding immediately and in a friendly manner to all service needs.
  c. Providing current and accurate information regarding Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, classes, fees, hours of operation, and special events.
  d. Operating the telephone using proper etiquette at all times.
  e. Registering program participants, handling facility rental requests, and processing ticket orders.

Operate computer and cash drawer to include accurately collecting and depositing money. Make change and issue receipts to customers. Accept payments for registration, admissions, passes, merchandise, rentals, and other receivables. Use computer software to prepare and process accurate and presentable receipts, documents, reports, records, etc.

Hours: Mix of daytime and evening hours during the week plus Saturdays on a monthly rotational basis. Some Sunday afternoons and evenings as needed for events.

Desired Qualifications:

Requirement/Qualifications
Experience working face-to-face with customers in fast-paced situations; experience in customer service preferred; effective interpersonal service plus oral and written communication skills; basic computer literacy with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite, data input and data bases; knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; knowledge of contemporary office procedures; keyboarding and 10-key knowledge a plus; ability to count money and make accurate change. Capable of moderate physical effort including lifting average of 10-15lbs. Minimum qualifications include: High School Diploma or GED, valid Ohio Driver’s License, ability to pass drug screen.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $8.10 - $17.56

Primary Duties:

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Plans, organizes, markets and presents outdoor education programs including nature-based, place-based, natural history and historical interpretation for school groups, day camps, community organizations and the general public at Fairfield park sites and other locations as arranged and assigned.

·         Creates and maintains positive connections with classroom teachers, scout leaders and other community resources to develop, implement and evaluate new programs which meet each group’s specific needs.

·         Reviews and is familiar with program material and lesson plans. Conducts research as necessary for programs. Learn specific park site information in order to present factual content during programs.

·         Assists in maintaining existing gardens and natural displays. Notifies Facility Manager of any safety hazards (i.e. fallen tress), and for closing any trail if necessary.

·         Participates and assists with special events and recreational programming as arranged and assigned.

·         May assist with training, scheduling and coordination of volunteers and seasonal intermittent staff as assigned. May occasionally coordinate and/or functionally supervise volunteers and other employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Effective oral and written communications skills; leadership and managerial skill. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to develop and maintain working relationships. Experience working with children preferred.


Minimum qualifications include: At least two (2) years of completed study at an accredited college or university with coursework in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences or closely related field or at least four (4) years of experience as an employee with a similar job description. Valid Ohio Driver’s License.

Fitness Programmer

The Fitness and Wellness Programmer is responsible the daily management of Group Fitness classes, Health and Wellness Programs and maintaining CAPRA standards throughout all programming.  This will include staff and program supervision; in-service training; special event programming; program promotion; equipment inventory; risk management; and policy development.

Primary Duties:

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, facilitate, coordinate and teach group fitness classes and programs and wellness activities
  • Plan and facilitate fitness activities at special events throughout the year
  • Keep current records and maintain inventory
  • Act as the main point of contact for communicating with the group fitness staff
  • Closely monitor and track all substitutions within the group fitness program
  • Maintain current records of Certifications for instructor’s files; make sure files are updated and alert instructor when expiration is approaching.
  • Conduct Staff and Program evaluations
  • Serve as a good role model for the staff
  • Enter programs and classes in Rec Pro
  • Make recommendations for fitness equipment purchases.
  • Create and submit Program Plans per CAPRA standards

Qualifications for Hire:

  • General knowledge in all areas of Group Exercise, Health and Wellness
  • Current certification in group fitness from a nationally recognized fitness organizations (e.g., AFAA, ACSM, ACE, ISSA, ZUMBA, Spinning) or other national certification in personal training
  • Experience with fitness equipment usage procedures and maintenance plans
  • Strong computer skills required with knowledge of REC Pro preferred
  • Certification by American Red Cross in Adult CPR and First Aid
Pay Range:

Salary Range: $14.06 - $20.19 per hour
