Fairfield is located in Southwest Ohio just north of Cincinnati with a landmass of approximately 22 square miles in the gently rolling landscape in the Great Miami River Valley.  Approximately 43,000 people call Fairfield home and it is the prime business address for more than 1,200 retail, service and light industrial establishments.

The position is assigned to the Technology Office and reports directly to the Information Technology Manager.  This position provides technical support to all City departments and locations as needed.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED; Associates Degree or advanced training in Information Technology preferred; two to four years of experience troubleshooting and repairing desktop computer systems and an understanding of networking concepts. Strong technical knowledge of PCs, laptops, tablets, printers and peripheral hardware devices.  Excellent problem solving/analysis, time management and communication skills.  Valid driver’s license.

The City of Fairfield, Ohio, a well-established, progressive city located north of Cincinnati, is seeking applications for Financial Services Manager.  This position reports to the Finance Director and is responsible for managing accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets, and utility operations including billing, collections and resolving customer account issues for water, sewer, solid waste fees, preparing financial reports, including the CAFR, assisting with the budget and overseeing special projects as needed. 

Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or Business or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in accounting and financial management.  Previous government accounting experience and CPA preferred.  Good analytical, organizational, teambuilding, oral and written communication skills are required.  Candidate must possess strong computer skills including spreadsheets, database, and word processing.  Salary range: $52,123 - $101,733 DOQ.

The position is assigned to the City Manager's Office and reports directly to the Assistant City Manager.  This is a strategically important position in an organization and community that highly values quality communications with internal and external audiences.  The incumbent will be expected to develop and apply superior hands-on skills in the creation and distribution of content for print, web, social media and other forms or marketing and communications in conjunction with all City departments. The position may also lead committees and work in groups and teams.

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field; extensive experience in performing communication work of a progressively responsible nature; preferably two or more years of experience in development and implementations of communications/public relations programs and projects. Experience with project management and leading teams will also be greatly beneficial.  The candidate must have proven experience in using traditional and non-traditional forms of media to connect with audiences and be able to provide proof of same.  A valid driver’s license is required.

The Fitness and Wellness Programmer is responsible the daily management of Group Fitness classes, Health and Wellness Programs and maintaining CAPRA standards throughout all programming.  This will include staff and program supervision; in-service training; special event programming; program promotion; equipment inventory; risk management; and policy development.

Primary Duties:

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, facilitate, coordinate and teach group fitness classes and programs and wellness activities
  • Plan and facilitate fitness activities at special events throughout the year
  • Keep current records and maintain inventory
  • Act as the main point of contact for communicating with the group fitness staff
  • Closely monitor and track all substitutions within the group fitness program
  • Maintain current records of Certifications for instructor’s files; make sure files are updated and alert instructor when expiration is approaching.
  • Conduct Staff and Program evaluations
  • Serve as a good role model for the staff
  • Enter programs and classes in Rec Pro
  • Make recommendations for fitness equipment purchases.
  • Create and submit Program Plans per CAPRA standards

Qualifications for Hire:

  • General knowledge in all areas of Group Exercise, Health and Wellness
  • Current certification in group fitness from a nationally recognized fitness organizations (e.g., AFAA, ACSM, ACE, ISSA, ZUMBA, Spinning) or other national certification in personal training
  • Experience with fitness equipment usage procedures and maintenance plans
  • Strong computer skills required with knowledge of REC Pro preferred
  • Certification by American Red Cross in Adult CPR and First Aid
Pay Range:

Salary Range: $14.06 - $20.19 per hour

 Hours: Days, Evenings & Weekends - must be flexible to work any days/hours
