The Fairfield Civil Service Commission is conducting an open competitive exam to establish an eligible list for the position of Maintenance Electrician for the City of Fairfield on Monday, March 7, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Drive, second floor Community Rooms B & C.

Primary Duties:

Applicants shall be: a Journeyman level Electrician having completed an apprenticeship program that is registered through the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council (OSAC) with at least five years of commercial/industrial electrical construction work experience; Ohio State Fire Marshall Fire Alarm License is preferred; must have a high school diploma or GED; must be  able to read/interpret construction blueprints, electrical layouts, wiring diagrams, and be familiar with machinery and control wiring; possess valid Driver’s License.  A complete job description may be reviewed upon request at the time of application.

Scope of the written exam will be open book multiple choice based on NEC 2011; basic knowledge and knowledge of skills necessary to perform the duties of this position.  You must bring your own book; none will be supplied.  A passing grade of 70% must be achieved to be included on list.
