Summary

Primary Duties:

Summary
Under general supervision of the Arts & Programs Manager, completes set up and prepares rooms for events, programs and rentals at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, provides oversight for evening and weekend events, theatre programs or rentals, performs security inspections of building, provides assistance regarding building maintenance and performs related duties as required. Responsibilities include opening/closing the building as well as customer service for patrons at the Arts Center. Primary Duties:

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
 
·         Plans, organizes, markets and presents outdoor education programs including nature-based, place-based, natural history and historical interpretation for school groups, day camps, community organizations and the general public at Fairfield park sites and other locations as arranged and assigned.
·         Creates and maintains positive connections with classroom teachers, scout leaders and other community resources to develop, implement and evaluate new programs which meet each group’s specific needs.
·         Reviews and is familiar with program material and lesson plans. Conducts research as necessary for programs. Learn specific park site information in order to present factual content during programs.
·         Assists in maintaining existing gardens and natural displays. Notifies Facility Manager of any safety hazards (i.e. fallen tress), and for closing any trail if necessary.
·         Participates and assists with special events and recreational programming as arranged and assigned.
·         May assist with training, scheduling and coordination of volunteers and seasonal intermittent staff as assigned. May occasionally coordinate and/or functionally supervise volunteers and other employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Creates menus that satiate guests; assign prices to menu items
  • Maintains food, beverage and equipment inventories
  • Schedules and receives deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quality & quantity
  • Monitors food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing & presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared & presented in an acceptable manner

  • Maintains all records and reports concerning the operation of concessions, such as F&B sales, inventory, time sheets, incident forms, etc.
  • Arranges for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services such as waste removal and pest control.
  • Monitors compliance with health, liquor and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving; keeping records as required.
  • Schedules use of facilities or catering services for events such as banquets or receptions, and negotiate details of arrangments with clients.
  • Schedules staff hours and assign duties.
  • Participates in staff evaluations; reports staff discipline problems as needed.
  • Leads all training to include ServSafe Food Safety, Food Handlers, TIPS, Micros, Cash Handling and Customer Service.
  • Performs some food preparation or service tasks such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all City and department policies and procedures.
