Mark Wendling was appointed Fairfield’s fifth City Manager in May of 2015 after service as the City’s Assistant City Manager. Prior to Fairfield he served several communities including tenure as City Manager of Silverton, Ohio; City Administrator of Independence, Kentucky; and Assistant Township Administrator of Delhi Township, Ohio. He began his public service career as Delhi Township’s Personnel Officer. Mark’s local government career spans more than 23 years.
Mark is a double graduate of Northern Kentucky University, where he earned Master of Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees. He subsequently served his alma mater as an Adjunct Professor in the Public Administration program. Additionally, Mark is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Leadership Program. He holds Credentialed Manager status with the International City/County Management Association and has served on several professional association boards including a term as President of the Center for Local Government and as conference coordinator for the Ohio Public Employer Labor Relations Association. He is also active in the Rotary Club of Fairfield, the Cincinnati Area Manager’s Association and the Ohio City/County Management Association.
Mark and his wife, Mindy, are the parents of two boys, Kyle and Zach.
