The Butler County Domestic Relations Court hears all cases involving divorce, dissolution of marriage, legal separation, annulment and domestic violence for residents of Butler County. In addition, it hears and decide all matters which are related to the termination of marriage or domestic violence, including child custody, visitation between parents and their children, child support, property division, division of debts and spousal support

The Probate Division of the Butler County Court of Common Pleas, more commonly referred to as the Butler County Probate Court and has jurisdiction over a wide variety of matters including:

• Legal guardianship
• Trusts
• Adoptions
• Name changes, correction and registration of birth records
• Wrongful death and minor settlements
• Marriage licenses
