The Clerk of Court is appointed by the presiding judge, and his duties are governed by the Ohio Revised Code and prescribed by statute.
Among various administrative duties, Fairfield’s Clerk of Court is responsible for the creation, maintenance, reporting and retention of records of the activities of the court and the issuance of process.
The Clerk is also responsible for the receipt and disbursement of all money paid into the court system. During 2005, the total receipts from fines and costs totaled $1,646,514.
Eddie Roberts is Fairfield’s current Court Administrator/Clerk of Court. Prior to his appointment, he served as a police officer for The City of Fairfield for 25 years. He was assigned to the detective division for 21 years and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1985.
After his retirement in 1999, he was employed by the Butler County Common Pleas Court before returning to Fairfield.
