The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department is currently developing a Thomas O. Marsh Park Expansion Master Plan and is interested in acquiring public input.
The existing Marsh Park, located at 6440 River Road, is a 30-acre park that offers a paved bike/walking path and pay fishing lake. Through an agreement with Martin Marietta, adjacent property to the north will be conveyed to the City of Fairfield for public use. The Marsh Park expansion will also include current City property to the southwest known as Black Bottom. Upon completion, Marsh Park will total 170 acres, 60 of which will be water.
The Kleingers Group has been retained by the City of Fairfield for the conceptual design of the park expansion. The City of Fairfield is exploring potential partnerships with other environmental and recreation agencies.
