Parks and Recreation Department
Greg joined the Parks and Recreation Department in the spring of 2008. His energies are largely focused on the management of labor, equipment, and materials directed toward the maintenance of the city owned golf courses, community arts center, aquatic center, historical sites, bike/hike paths, numerous parks, and other department managed areas/events. Greg also advises on construction projects and horticultural/grounds related issues at other facilities/projects when required.
Although he grew up in southeastern Michigan, Greg attended The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelors degree in Natural Resources focusing on agronomy, horticulture, and communication.
Greg began the main part of his working career in the Denver, Colorado area where he helped maintain golf courses and eventually supervised large landscape maintenance/installation crews for a business park and property developer. Upon returning to the Midwest in the mid 90’s, Greg was Superintendent at two different golf clubs in Michigan, in which area he remained until moving to Ohio.
Having come from a strong athletic/sports background, Greg was a student/athlete at Ohio State University, has been President of two different youth hockey associations, and is a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. He was also recently named The City of Fairfield’s STAR Employee of The Year for 2009.
Greg is married to Lori, a restaurant general manager, and their goal is to eventually do some sightseeing in each of the 50 states. Greg also enjoys hockey, flying, and golfing.
