Jim develops and directs a comprehensive program of recreation and leisure services and operates and oversees the operation and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities.

Background:

Jim has directed Fairfield’s Parks and Recreation Department for more than 24 years and has been employed by the city for over 30 years. Prior to his current position, he served as the Recreation Manager for the Village of Palm Springs, Florida and as Fairfield’s assistant parks director.

Under his leadership, the Fairfield Aquatic Center has earned multiple national safety and Golden Guard Awards, and the Fairfield Community Arts Center was honored with the Facility Design Award (OPRA) and Architecture Showcase Award (Athletic Business magazine).

Jim serves on the Fairfield YMCA Board of Managers and is a member of the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association and the National Recreation and Parks Association.

Personal interests/family:

Jim has completed the Boston Marathon and the Ironman World Championship Triathlon. He also enjoys hockey and reading.

He and his wife have two children, and Jim serves as the past-president of the Butler County Youth Hockey Association and a youth sports coach.
