PUBLIC NOTICE

The Fairfield Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to continue accreditation by verifying that it meets professional standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with professional standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session Monday, April 20, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The session will be held in the Fairfield Police Department Training Room, 5230 Pleasant Ave. Fairfield, Ohio.

Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling (513) 266-0207, on Monday, April 20, 2009 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Assessment Team will take comments.

Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the public information session, are limited to ten minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the standards is available at the Fairfield Police Department. Local contact is Lt. Ken Gerold, (513) 896-8248, kgerold@fairfield-city.org.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments concerning the Fairfield Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation is encouraged to write: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 10306 Eaton Place, Suite 320, Fairfax, Virginia, 22030-2201.
