Lt. Gerold oversees the Criminal Investigations Section, the Crime Prevention Section, and the Juvenile Diversion Program. His primary responsibilities are to ensure that reported crimes are investigated thoroughly and efficiently, to use crime analysis techniques to identify emerging crime trends and develop problem-solving strategies to address criminal activity, and to identify persons responsible for repeated criminal acts and ensure that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He is also responsible for the training and accreditation functions.
Lt. Gerold was promoted in January, 2008. He began is police career as a police officer in 1988, and was promoted to Sergeant in 1998. He has previously served as Commander, Support Services Division.
Lt. Gerold attended the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
