The Fairfield Police Department offers a variety of programs to educate citizens and help to ensure their safety:

Citizen Police Academy
The Fairfield Police Department’s semiannual Citizen Police Academy gives residents a better understanding of police work. Sign up now to be part of the next session, starting in September.

D.A.R.E.
Each year, Fairfield students are part of the 26 million in the United States who benefit from D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education). The program helps give children the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence.

Juvenile Diversion Program
The Juvenile Diversion Program was established to provide first-time non-violent juvenile offenders with early intervention services and an option other than the official court system and a permanent record.

Neighborhood Crime Watch
The Fairfield Police Department's Neighborhood Crime Watch program brings police and residents together to achieve a common goal – making neighborhoods safe.

Speak Up
You are always welcome to call the police or the school district if you need assistance. But sometimes students, parents or concerned citizens are reluctant to report criminal activity due to the possibility of retribution from the suspected wrongdoers.That is why we created the Fairfield Police Department / Fairfield City Schools Anonymous Crime and Drug Tip Line, called SPEAK UP!

Vacation House Watch
The Fairfield Police Department urges the residents of Fairfield to notify the department anytime they intend to leave home for vacation. Officers will check your house as time permits.
