Crime Statistics

The Fairfield Police Department reports criminal offenses to the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR). The UCR groups the most common crimes into the Part I Crimes category and publishes statistics in their annual report, Crime in the United States. Residents may visit the Uniform Crime Reports website to obtain more information about the UCR Program and to obtain a variety of crime statistics at the local, state, and national levels.

Residents have two options to view local crime statistics on this website: (1) The Snapshot Report, and (2) The GIS-based Crime Map. The Snapshot Report was designed to give residents an overview of Part I crimes within the city, as well as crime prevention information and crime rate comparisons to other jurisdictions. The Crime Map option gives residents the ability to view crime data for specific areas of the city, such as a neighborhood. If you have not used the Crime Map before, we suggest you review the Crime Map Introduction. This document will give you information about the Crime Map, as well as basic instructions on how to navigate this interactive map. Choose Snapshot Report or Crime Map to view local crime data.

If you have any questions about crime within the city or a specific neighborhood, contact the Community Services Division at 513-896-8292.
