Road Repair
The Public Works Department provides repair services for curb and gutter, potholes and sunken roadway areas. When possible, temporary repairs will be made, followed by permanent repairs as soon as possible.

Sight Obstructions
If you experience an obstruction due to low overhanging tree branches that prevents you from having clear visibility at intersections or along city streets, you may contact the Construction Services Division of the Public Works Department.

Snow Removal
During winter weather events, each of the city's snow removal zones is assigned a truck with a plow and salt spreader. Additional trucks may be assigned as appropriate.

Street Sweeping
The Street Division monitors the street sweeping contract. The contractor sweeps arterial and collector streets twice per month, the downtown area one time per week and residential streets five times per year.

Traffic Issues - As part of its responsibility for the care, repair and maintenance of Fairfield's streets, the Public Works Department handles the following traffic issues:

Request a Speed Advisory Radar Unit
Fairfield has four speed advisory radar trailers. Highly popular devices for slowing traffic, these trailers display the posted speed limit and the actual speed of oncoming vehicles.

Report a Traffic Signal Problem
Fairfield currently has 61 operating traffic signals. They are on a computerized system that can be monitored and changed as needed from the Public Works facility.
