Mark Scharringhausen, Council Member at Large

Biography

Mark is a lifelong Fairfield resident and his parents were original members of Sacred Heart Parish.

Education

Graduated from Fairfield Sr. High School and The Ohio State University with a BS from the College of Business.

Professional

Recently retired from GE Aviation following a 34 year career in customer, program and sales management.

Community Involvement

His community service includes 16 years as both a ward and at-large council representative. During this time Mark chaired either the Finance and Budget or the Public Safety committees of council. In addition to his council service, he’s also a past member of the Fairfield Civil Service Commission, Charter Review Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.

Mark is a past trustee and treasurer for the Fairfield Community Foundation. In 2018 he was appointed to the Fairfield Forward steering committee. This committee delivered a comprehensive plan that provides a critical, strategic framework for Fairfield’s future growth.
