Chad Cooper


Chad is assigned as an EMS Lieutenant / Unit 1. His responsibilities are to oversee daily operations of the crew at Station 32, respond to fire and EMS incidents on front-line apparatus and fills in for one of the three career captains as District 33. Chad is assigned specific duties related to EMS, these include: overseeing all drug inventories, helping to maintain the mobile computer reporting database and implementing EMS related trainings.

Background
Chad's fire career began as a volunteer for Owensville Fire/Rescue as cadet in 1996. He became a certified firefighter in 1998. After high school graduation in 1998 from Clermont Northeastern, Chad attended Hocking College and received an Associates degree in Fire and Emergency Services in 2000. Included in the degree program was certification as a paramedic. While attending college Chad worked for Sycamore Township Fire Department as a firefighter/EMT beginning in 1999. In 2001, Chad was hired at the City of Fairfield as a firefighter/paramedic and in 2007 was promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant.

Chad serves as a member of the Butler County Technical Rescue team, Fairfield Bike Paramedic team and Fire Department Honor Guard. On top of the minimum qualifications needed Chad has also been certified as: Fire Inspector, HAZMAT Technician, Rope Rescue Technician, Trench Collapse Technician, Structure Collapse Operations, Confined Space Technician, WMD Chemical/Biological/Nuclear/Radiological Technician and Fire and EMS Instructor. Various leadership classes such as Fire Officer 1 and 2 also have been completed.

Personal Interests/Family
Chad has a 3 year son and enjoys various outdoor activities during his off days.
