Throughout the year, Fairfield’s Firefighters provide services far beyond daily readiness to respond to emergencies. Educational and prevention programs are offered to the community to better prepare citizens for times of crisis, or to avoid danger before it happens.
Following are a few of the educational opportunities offered by the Fairfield Fire Department.
The City of Fairfield Fire Department offers free CPR and AED classes.
This interactive teaching aid lets kids get a hands-on lesson in fire and home safety.
The Fairfield Fire Department loves to open its doors to residents, school classes and community groups.
Stop the Bleed teaches how to stop life-threatening bleeding with the use of a tourniquet or wound packing. Take 10 CPR teaches hands-only compressions in just 10 minutes. These two courses are combined into one program which lasts approximately 70:00. Classes are offered on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, beginning in November, 2018. Class size is limited to (16) and attendees must be 16 years of age or older. Minimum class size is 5 or we reserve the right to reschedule the class. Classes will be held at Fairfield Fire Department Headquarters at 375 Nilles Road. Please call 867-5379 to register for a class. No certificate is issued for Take 10 CPR and it does not take the place of other CPR programs offered by the department.
