Fairfield Sustains
In 2024, City Council adopted Fairfield Sustains, our first comprehensive sustainability plan. This plan sets ambitious goals centered around improving the quality of life, conserving resources, and promoting economic vitality.
With 10 goals, 30 strategies, and over 100 action steps, Fairfield Sustains provides a clear roadmap for our city's sustainability efforts, designed to create a shared vision for a more sustainable future.

Sustainability Commission
The City of Fairfield's Sustainability Commission advises the City Council on how to achieve the goals of our Fairfield Sustains plan. The commission works to recommend measures that help the city maximize its resources and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, they educate and engage the public by promoting the five frameworks of the plan and making relevant resources easily accessible to the community.
